Tickets are now available for the inaugural Broadway Rom-Com-a-thon! Say hello to our first official programme of 2024!
We are absolutely delighted to announce that for the first time since Oppenheimer, the latest blockbusters are back at the Academy! Our Rom-Com-a-thon opens with the all-new release Anyone But You, already making a splash at the box office, and made possible by a major incoming announcement! Saturday then sees two iconic 90s rom-coms take the stage, with the winner of our members' choice vote being the timeless classic Notting Hill! Julia Roberts then returns for another starring role in fan-favourite Pretty Woman, she walked off the street, into his life and stole his heart! We then conclude our programme on Sunday with the perfect 50s matinee Pillow Talk, featuring the original rom-com power couple Rock Hudson and Doris Day, before an epic finale showing the favourite of thousands starring Patrick Swayze, the iconic Oscar-winning Dirty Dancing!
The inaugural Broadway Rom-Com-a-thon is the perfect way to celebrate Valentine's with your partner, or Galentine's with your friends! We would like to give enormous thanks to Film Hub Scotland, who have helped fund this event and offered incredible levels of support to our project. All proceeds go towards bringing the Broadway back, for all of us. General admission tickets are priced at £7, with an exclusive 25% discount available to all official Broadway members, and the chance to add a donation to the cost of your purchase.
Prestwick Academy's 300 seated capacity auditorium, with the Broadway Stereophonic Sound System (and quintessential Broadway showmanship), brings an authentic and professional cinema experience back to Prestwick for the first time in almost half a century. The venue is also fully accessible, with accessible seating able to reserve at no extra cost.
With the help of our partners Indy Cinema Group and the amazing support of Film Hub Scotland, the magic of film is back in Prestwick and here to stay!
