Welcome to our
Heritage Collections.

Heritage preservation is at the forefront of everything we hope to accomplish.

The Broadway is a truly remarkable survivor, arguably the best remaining example of a golden age small town cinema in Scotland, and preserving the soul of the Broadway for future generations is incredibly important. And yet we can
 go even further.

We aim to preserve not only the Broadway's history but the history of all cinemas across the country, in our nation's first ever Museum of Scottish Cinemas.

Cinema has played such a massive role in the cultural and built heritage of our country's towns and cities, with Scotland once having the highest rate of cinema attendance per capita in Eur
ope!

We can keep those memories of our past generations alive. The Broadway can become a window into the past and an interactive learning experience for our future generations.

Here you can read the latest heritage news and
view galleries of all donations received, with all major updates being published as soon as they happen!

Keeping the golden age spirit alive.

CARLTON BINGO STIRLING

We would like to thank Mike Watret and all at Carlton Bingo for their incredibly kind donations of remaining projection equipment from their venue in Stirling, the former Allanpark Cinema. We are in the process of disassembling the remaining items of the collection before transfer to their new home in Prestwick.

SOUTHERN UPLANDS

We would like Tom McGarrity, former projectionist of the State Cinema in Shettleston in Glasgow, for his wonderful generosity in passing on to us our second Cinemeccanica Victoria 5 projector from his home in the beautiful Southern Uplands. Our new Vic 5 will join its sibling collected from Thurso in being recommissioned for use in bringing 35mm film back in the very near future!
