Second Cinemeccanica Victoria 5 Projector Collection

We are absolutely delighted to announce the arrival of a new addition to our projection line-up, our second Cinemeccanica Victoria 5!

Our new Vic 5 was collected today from Tom McGarrity, former projectionist of the State Cinema in Shettleston, Glasgow! Tom has kindly passed on to us a fully operational Victoria 5, complete with CX 21H lamphouse, spare projector head, and IREM rectifier, along with some Cinemeccanica and Premier reels. We would like to thank Tom for his generosity and are absolutely delighted to welcome the Broadway's third new 35mm projector in 2023!

Our plans for 35mm are incredibly exciting! We hope to bring analogue film screenings back to Ayrshire for the first time in over a decade in 2024, with the Broadway Cinema of the future becoming a cathedral of film, with capability for all formats and therefore joining a very exclusive group of cinemas in Scotland able to bring 35mm to their communities!

Our latest addition will join its fellow Vic 5 donated by former projectionist Darren Manson in Thurso, and our beloved Rank RK60 from ODEON Ayr! Together, these three projectors can now form a line-up capable of not only showing 35mm at specially arranged single screenings, but capable of operating between them an entire film festival of analogue film!
