On the 28th of November 2021, we proudly hosted our first pop-up cinema event in over 20 months, a Christmas Special screening of The Muppet Christmas Carol at the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) Club in Prestwick.
The event was a tremendous success and we would like to thank all of those who attended on the day and enjoyed the screening along with us. Our return to hosting pop-up cinema brought with it some new experiences too! Added to the cinema programme was an all-new pre-movie presentation - featuring retro cinema graphics, countdowns and professional spotlights. This was co-ordinated by new director and chief projectionist of the group, Guy Walker, the event was also the first for Guy and fellow director Andrew Foster, since joining the group earlier this year. Also present was the visual display from our official history exhibition, featuring two separate exhibits: The History of the Broadway and also Other Cinemas of Ayr and Prestwick.
We also hosted a very special guest appearance! Yes, Santa also arrived to hand out treats to the children and entertain all before the start of the film!
It was wonderful to bring cinema back to Prestwick once again and we can't wait to host more screenings in the very near future. Keep watch for announcements very soon!
