National Trust for Scotland's Highlight Talk Appearance

Updated: Apr 8

In celebration of Burns Night, and the Broadway’s connection to our national Bard, our Project Development Officer Kyle was invited by the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum in Alloway to feature on the National Trust for Scotland’s Highlight Talk Programme.

The sold-out event was held in the museum’s beautiful Robertson Room, as part of Burns Night Celebration Week, and featured both a presentation and engaging Q&A session

Kyle’s talk consisted of a presentation on the history of the Broadway, our vision for the future re-opening of our beloved cinema and our unique, local connection to Burns; the Broadway’s hand-painted scroll, featuring a quote from one of his most famous poems, which is still visible after almost 90 years!

"O wad some power the giftie gie us,

To see oursels as ithers see us!"

We would like to extend our thanks to the National Trust, and the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, for involving us in their celebration of Burns Night, and for supporting the work of our charity by hosting Kyle’s wonderful talk.
