This issue we'd like to introduce you to not one, not two, but three new members of the Broadway's team!
Â
Now that Friends of the Broadway's main Marketing & Communications Manager has moved on to pastures new (as the Broadway's new Project Development Officer) we've welcomed some new members to the team who are set to support all the charity's work with refreshed, strategic marketing activity.
Â
Here's a little more information about our new Marketing Team...

Alex Wilson: Co-opted Director of Marketing
Alex recently retired to Prestwick from nearby Glasgow after 33 years at BBC Scotland. Her most recent role was Commercial and Partnerships Manager, where she led a team of eight who were responsible for the marketing of BBC Scotland's Broadcast TV and Radio studios and outside broadcast facilities and technical staff. She was also responsible for a range of creative partnerships within BBC Scotland, including organisations such as the National Library of Scotland, Creative Scotland, and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Â
Alex is delighted to join the project and said:
Â
"I am delighted and excited to be part of the Friends of The Broadway Events and Marketing team and also as a member of the Board.Â
Having only recently moved to Prestwick in September 2023, I had admired the project and followed the updates with great interest. I am honoured to join this talented team especially as we now have funding to buy the building and progress on the journey to bring the Broadway back into the hands of the community. We will be planning some exciting events and screenings for the future and I am looking forward to when this iconic Cinema opens it's doors again."

Caroline Mitchell: Co-opted Director of Communications
Hailing from an agency background, Caroline's experience in Marketing and Communications was carved out in 'Destination Marketing'. For ten years, Caroline worked alongside multi-national real estate companies. Her work included crafting and implementing marketing and communications strategies that supported the placemaking of London-based neighbourhood regeneration projects. Now living back in her home-town, Caroline has discovered Freelance life and provides Marketing and Communications support to a variety of businesses and organisations.
Â
An avid fan of the Charity before coming on board, Caroline said:
Â
"I've watched the amazing work of Friends of the Broadway for a good few years now, so it's an absolute pleasure to join the team and the Board of this incredible venture.
Already, it's been humbling to witness the work that teams of people are putting into The Broadway, to save a beautiful building and give something of value back to the community of Prestwick. To support the charity, there will be more fabulous events, opportunities for the community to contribute and engage with the vision for the future. We're now entering a new phase of the project, an exciting one as we prepare to purchase the building, and I'm thrilled to be part of it."

Katie Lamb: Executive Advisor of Design and Media
With over eight years of experience working in the creative industry, Katie runs her own design and illustration business, working with some brilliant brands, creative agencies and start-ups.
Her freelance career covers a variety of industries including sports, travel, marketing, architecture, rail infrastructure and more. As well as design briefs for print, Katie also specialises in digital design - from social media graphics, website design and brochures, to strategic branding and illustration.
Katie said of joining the team:
"I'm honoured to join Friends of the Broadway! Being able to contribute my skills in media and design, to help shape the organisation's branding and digital output is an incredible opportunity. I can't wait to see how everything comes together in the coming months and I'm delighted to play a part in making a positive impact through our collaborative efforts!"
