Yesterday we were fortunate enough to take part in a guest lecture by Scottish cinema historian and expert Professor Bruce Peter, for the benefit of the students of Heriot Watt University taking part in the Collaborative Design Project.
The students both in Edinburgh and in Dubai tuned in to the presentation on the history of Scottish Cinema, the Broadway and our architect, Alister Gladstone MacDonald. We were able to co-host the presentation live from the Broadway's auditorium and to help mark the occasion we were able to play out some iconic movie soundtracks, including the Sound of Music! The Broadway once again echoed to the classics of the past.
We would like to give a huge thank you to Bruce Peter for hosting the wonderful lecture and to all the students who attended and asked some fantastic questions! The students are hard at work again today bringing your visions to life and tomorrow at the conclusion of the project there will be a public exhibition at Heriot Watt Edinburgh Campus from 1pm to 5pm!
Anyone is welcome to attend and we can't wait to see the student's finished work! We will be posting their creations on social media in the weeks to come, and plan on hosting a community open day soon in the Broadway, to give you all the opportunity to view those visions first-hand. We hope you are as excited as we are!
