About this Screening
Our directors' choice and Christmas Film Festival finale needs no introduction. Die Hard has become a cult classic, set on Christmas Eve and yet packed with pulse-racing, heart-stopping action that keeps you on the edge of your seat for the entire performance!
Bruce Willis is the iconic John McClane, a New York City police officer who tries to save his estranged wife and several others taken hostage by terrorists during a Christmas party at the Nakatomi Plaza in Los Angeles. Alan Rickman is spectacular as the indomitable protaganist, Hans Gruber, with the incredible climax cementing Die Hard's place as the action movie that paved the way for all future action movies. Yippee-ki-yay.
The Broadway Christmas Film Festival is our second annual film festival to launch this year, with the Broadway celebrating the holiday season in style for years to come! We would like to give enormous thanks to Film Hub Scotland, who have helped fund this event and offered incredible levels of support to our project. All proceeds go towards the Broadway's restoration and bringing cinema back to our communities. General admission tickets are priced at £7, with an exclusive 25% discount available to all official Broadway members, and the chance to add a donation to the cost of your purchase.
Prestwick Academy's 300+ seated capacity auditorium, paired with state-of-the-art projection equipment and The Broadway Stereophonic Sound System (and quintessential Broadway showmanship), brings an authentic and professional cinema experience back to Prestwick for the first time in almost half a century. Our ever-changing and expanding concessions menu offers a variety of sweets, popcorn and ice cream at affordable prices for all. The venue is also fully accessible, with accessible seating able to reserve at no extra cost.
Die Hard is rated 15, and therefore no one under the age of 15 will be permitted to attend, with strict ID-checks in place upon entry.
