Frank Capra's It's a Wonderful Life will forever remain one of the greatest ever festive films. Winning the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1947, and since being named in the Top 20 movies of all-time by IMDb, we were delighted to hear that It's a Wonderful Life emerged as the winner of our pupils' choice vote! A delegation of sixth year pupils from Prestwick Academy chose which Christmas film they would like to see appear on our film festival programme, and there could have been no better choice for our Saturday evening show than to join George Bailey on his remarkable journey!

It's a Wonderful Life returns to the Broadway's programme for the second year running, after launching our all-new pop-up cinema offering in 2022. So popular, we showed it twice! Since expanding to the Roadshow and moving to our new home at the Academy, we now can't wait to bring it back to Prestwick this year and for many years to come. We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet!

The Broadway Christmas Film Festival is our second annual film festival to launch this year, with the Broadway celebrating the holiday season in style for years to come! We would like to give enormous thanks to Film Hub Scotland, who have helped fund this event and offered incredible levels of support to our project. All proceeds go towards the Broadway's restoration and bringing cinema back to our communities. General admission tickets are priced at £7, with an exclusive 25% discount available to all official Broadway members, and the chance to add a donation to the cost of your purchase.

Prestwick Academy's 300+ seated capacity auditorium, paired with state-of-the-art projection equipment and The Broadway Stereophonic Sound System (and quintessential Broadway showmanship), brings an authentic and professional cinema experience back to Prestwick for the first time in almost half a century. Our ever-changing and expanding concessions menu offers a variety of sweets, popcorn and ice cream at affordable prices for all. The venue is also fully accessible, with accessible seating able to reserve at no extra cost.

It's a Wonderful Life is rated U, and therefore all ages are permitted to attend. However, all under-18s must be accompanied by an adult at all times as per our admissions policy.
